Dr. Rizwan Jahangir

A Lifelong Mathematics Learner

I work in combinatorial commutative algebra — the Hilbert theory of polyomino ideals and Cohen–Macaulay posets — and develop computational tools for Macaulay2. I teach mathematics and quantitative methods to university students.

I hold a PhD in Mathematics from Sabancı University, Istanbul, where my research focused on the Hilbert series of polyomino ideals and Cohen–Macaulay posets. Through an Erasmus+ collaboration with the University of Messina, I co-developed and published the PolyominoIdeals package for Macaulay2. I have taught at NUST Business School, Habib University, Sabancı University, and the University of Central Punjab, and have organised numerous international workshops and seminars in mathematics.
